24 February 2009 Skye Camanachd manager Angie Murchison has named his squad for the trip to Oban to face National Premier League opponents Oban Camanachd in a friendly match on Saturday 28 February 2009. Skye Camanachd beat Oban Camanachd 3-0 in Portree in 2008 to win the Thomas Ferguson Memorial Cup and they are sure to face a stiff test this weekend ahead of the start to the 2009 shinty season. Captain Kenny Campbell, Somhairle MacDonald and AB Connor are unavailable but Murchison is still able to name a strong 15 man squad. Skye Camanachd from; Jamie Gannon, Steven Morrison (captain), Dougie Rankin, John Moir, Allan MacLeod, Thomas Butler, Ian Nicolson, Shockie MacLennan, Gilleasbuig MacDonald, Jamie MacDonald, Kerr Gibb, Alan Palmer, Ally MacLennan, Danny Morrison, Norman MacLeod. Steven Morrison captains the side in the absence of Kenny Campbell. The Skye based players will leave Portree at 9am, collecting the Kyleakin boys on route. Several players will travel direct from their Glasgow base. The match throws up at 2pm. |
