| Strathglass Retain MacDonald Cup After Draw With Glenurquhart. | |
| 22 February 2009 Strathglass have retained the MacDonald Cup after a goalless draw with local rivals Glenurquhart at Drum na Drochit. The match between newly promoted National Premier League side Glenurquhart and recently relegated North Division 1 side Strathglass was a rather uneventful affair and finished 0-0. Strathglass will be the happier with the result and they will be serious contenders for the Marine Harvest North Division 1 title this season. The player of the match was judged by Fort William manager Drew McNeill and he selected Strathglass keeper Stevie MacLachlan for the award. It was a double celebration for the MacLauchland family as son Marc was presented with the National U17 player of the year award, This means that the Strath retain the trophy after their 3-1 win in the 2008 clash. | |
