A Skye & Lochalsh Primary 1-3 Shinty Tournament took place in Plockton on Friday 5 December 2008.

A total of 10 teams took part in what was an entertaining evening’s shinty in which the Lochalsh sides came out on top.

The Portree Cheetahs won Group A with 4 straight wins. Glenelg were runners up after 2 wins, a draw and a defeat set them ahead of Plockton in third place and South Skye and Auchtertyre.

Kyle won Group B with a 100% record from their 4 games. Lochcarron were runners up with 2 wins, a draw and a defeat, leaving Loch Duich, Elgol and Portree Tigers in their trail.

In the first semi final, Lochcarron had a thrilling 4-3 win over the Portree Cheetahs. Kyle joined them in the final with a convincing 7-2 win over Glenelg in the second semi final.

Kyle continued their good form into the final and they made it 6 wins out of 6 with a deserved 5-2 win over Lochcarron.
