Well known shinty referee Donnie Fraser will stand down at the end of this season after 25 years refereeing at the very top of the game.

Donnie has also been a prominent member of the Camanachd Referees Association and his retiral, coupled with the resignation of top referees Calum Duff and John "Spod" Macleod, will leave a major void in refereeing circles.

Donnie refereed several Skye Camanachd games this season, including Skye's exciting 3-2 extra time Balliemore Cup semi final victory over Glenurquhart at Drum na Drochit - even if he did appear to play almost 25 minutes injury time, with Skye defending a slender lead!

Joking aside, everyone at Skye Camanachd wishes Donnie a happy retirement and hope that his shinty expertise can be used to assist younger referees in the game.
