Skye Camanachd crash to a 4-0 home defeat to Kilmallie in their North Division 1 clash in Portree.
Kilmallie had everything to play for in the league as they fight it out with Glenurquhart for the right to play in the Marine Harvest Premier League.
Skye had early chances and Ian Nicolson fired over after 5 minutes. Nicolson came close again a few minutes later when latched onto a diagonal free hit from Somhairle MacDonald, only to see his shot saved by Kilmallie keeper Kevin Toye.
Kilmallie's John Stewart went close after 20 minutes when his shot from the left went across the Skye goal, just wide of Gannon's left post. Shortly after, Stewart found himself in space but his shot came back off the post.
The writing was on the wall from Skye and after 25 minutes, John Stewart collected a ball over the top and saw his shot saved by Jamie Gannon, but Fraser Massie was first to react and he knocked the ball into the net.
After 31 minutes, Gannon saved at full stretch with Kilmallie claiming that he had played the ball when lying on the ground. However minutes later Kilmallie again punished a lapse in the Skye defence and John Stewart doubled the lead.
With 10 minutes to go until half time, Skye manager Ally Morrison took AB Connor from full forward and moved half back Dougie Rankin into the attack. Rankin made an immediate impression and fired in successtive shots which were saved by Toye but no Skye forward was able to take advantage of the rebounds.
Five minutes before the break, Dougie Rankin crossed from the right and Somhairle MacDonald's shot was saved by Toye. AB Connor was booked on the stroke of half time for a rash challenge.
Kilmallie continued to look the more dangerous side in the second half and after 55 minutes, Shockie MacLennan and Alan Palmer replaced AB Connor and Ally MacLennan. Shockie MacLennan took over at right wing centre with Jamie MacDonald dropping back to half back.
A minute later, Jamie Gannon saved well from Stewart but Kilmallie continued to press and Michael Rodgers made it 3-0 on the hour mark.
Alan MacDonald added a fourth from the penalty spot after 75 minutes after Skye keeper Jamie Gannon was penalised for playing the ball when lying on the ground.
Kilmallie's greater hunger won the day and Skye will now want to end the season on a high when they visit Glenurquhart on 20 September 2008 in their final league fixture.
