Skye Camanachd U17s 2 Fort William U17s 4 | |
12 August 2008 Skye Camanachd U17s are edged out by Fort William U17s in this WJ Cameron clash. Skye made a great start to the match when Danny Morrison fired them into the lead, after an initial shot by Neil MacVicar. Skye had chances to increase their lead before Fort William scored twice through Ewan Campbell and Stevie Stewart to take a 2-1 half time lead. Skye levelled the match into the second half when a clever Shockie MacLennan free hit was blasted into the net by the alert Danny Morrison for his and Skye's second goal of the game. Fort William fought back though and scored two quick goals again through Ewan Campbell and Stevie Stewart to seal the win. Scott MacLeod produced a great save near the end to keep the final score 4-2 to the visitors. This was an older, bigger Fort William U17 side who will lose 8 of their players next season. Skye in comparison are a younger side and will only lose Shockie MacLennan, ian MacPherson and Robert Urquhart at the end of the term.
