Killmallie 5 Skye Camanachd 1 | |
20 July 2008 A much changed Skye Camanachd second team go down by 5 goals to 1in their North Division 2 visit to play Kilmallie. Only 5 of the team that lined up against Kilmallie started the match against Kinlochshiel the week before. Skye took the lead through a superb Danny Morrison fick shot after only 5 minutes. However Kilmallie went in 2-1 up at the break after replies from Liam MacDonald and Peter MacIntyre. Skye lost half back Neil John Campbell to a nasty knee gash which later required several stiches. Malcolm Moir moved into defence with Neil Beaton coming on into the attack. Some terrific goalkeeping from Skye's Jamie Gannon kept the score at 2-1 until 20 minutes from the end when MacDonald and MacIntyre scored again in quick succession. A 75 minute Graham Mitchell put Kilmallie out of site. Speaking on Cuillin FM after the game, manager Davie MacVicar praised the performances of keeper Jamie Gannon and defenders David Grant and Martin Bruce.
